CLEVELAND BROWNS ROSTER BY NAME AND NUMBER DURING 1946-2014
FROM BROWNS FANS.........................
" I was 5 years old in Jim Browns rookie season. Here in Syracuse we had two channels one carried the Browns and the other the Giants. So even when they played each other both stations carried the Browns, Giants game. Not until the AFL started then it all changed.
But getting back to being a Browns fan, 5 years old my Italian Grandfather always bragged about Jim Brown. We lived upstairs from my Italian grandparents. First time I saw Jim Brown play was the Browns Giants game the ball was on the Cleveland 40, Milt Plum hand offed to Brown and he ran threw the line and left everybody in the secondary in the dust to score a touchdown. That was it, he looked like Superman to me and I never looked at the number 32 the same way I look at other numbers. it did not matter what sport I played basketball, football and especially baseball (my favorite sport), I always wore number 32 because of him. My first football was a Lou Groza with a football tee. My first football helmet was one painted Cleveland Browns by my father, My father worked for Easy Washers which made washing machines. My father was a professional spray painter, so he purchased a Wilson helmet and painted it for me for Christmas one year, I will never forget. That's my story, I hope you enjoyed it.
Thanks,
